Passive House (Passivhaus in Europe) is the world’s most stringent building standard for energy use.  The amount of energy required to heat and/or cool a Passive House is typically smaller than that used for lighting and appliances.  Passive Houses also boast excellent Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) due to the highly-efficient air exchangers (HRV or ERV) continuously introducing fresh, filtered air to the home.

This project is a collaboration between Komelot Land and Homes and New Leaf Custom Homes.  This blog is a means of documenting the Design and Construction of Kingston’s first Passive House.
